I bgean making models for amusement parks when I was a sophomore in high school. My first was Sleepy Hollow (not the
one featured on the website). After I began to discover the potential that I could build just about whatever I desired, I
buried myself in working on them and always trying to come up with new ideas. I often turned to Disney attractions for inspration,
but never as an exact model. There are also countless sketches and doodles that are involved. I rarely make up a design 'on
the spot' but rather spend several days planning out each section of construction. My DisneySea model is actually the only
one that comes directly from a Disney concept, yet it is almost entirely of my own design. As I got better, even more possibilites
opened up with what I could design with little more than balsa wood, newspaper and paint. I also frequently update and remodel
past designs as I discover new techniques and ideas. The order in which the models were built is as follows:
1) Sleepy Hollow: The Legend Returns (exterior queue and mountains)
2) Sleepy Hollow: The Legend Returns (interior show building)
3) Just Imagine... Center
4) Fright Nights (abandoned/destroyed)
5) Maheono Peak
6) Downtown Disney (work halted for a period of time)
7) Just Imagine...Center (repainted/remodeled)
8) Sleepy Hollow (interior show building repainted/remodeled)
9) Maheono Peak (town added/interior torn out; still awaiting replacement)
10) Downtown Disney (abandoned/destroyed)
11) DisneySea
12) Phantom Manor
13) Sleepy Hollow - All new model for 2005 Imagi-Nations Competition
Today I'm attending Cal Poly University as an architecture major and a cast member at the Disneyland Resort, so unfortunately
I don't have near the time I used to have, so progress on the models is much slower nowadays.
